Emmanuel church is based right in the heart of Southill. We are a community of people who worship God together, led by the Holy Spirit. We seek to follow Jesus and join God in His mission in the world. We long to see God’s Kingdom increasingly revealed in our community and lives transformed by Jesus. We believe that God is Love and He reaches out to welcome all, so we aim to bless our community in God’s love and welcome all who come.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

John 3:16

We believe that God is calling us to be a church that is Growing Younger, Growing Deeper and Growing Wider.

Growing Younger

We believe that God wants us to be a church where:

  • People of all ages and backgrounds can worship together as the family of God.
  • The age range reflects of the community of Southill.
  • Families feel welcome and want to belong to our church.
  • Children and young people are valued and nurtured.Everyone is becoming more childlike in their faith.

Growing Deeper

We believe that God wants us to be a church where:

  • As a community we are all growing through discipleship
  • Everyone belongs to a Home Group, where they can grow as a disciple of Jesus through Bible study, prayer and worship.
  • We are increasingly guided by the Holy Spirit, rooted in prayer, seeing lives transformed by Jesus.
  • Each person’s God given gifts and talents are recognised, valued and released.
Where new disciples are grown and nurtured.

Growing Wider

We believe that God wants us to be a church where:

  • We serve our community and support one another in prayerful and practical care.
  • We increasingly support those in need especially families, the ill, lonely and bereaved.
  • We are constantly looking at what God is doing in the world and seeking to join Him in His mission.
  • We continue to bless our community and share the love of God with those around us.
  • We partner with other organisations in Southill and are increasingly working together for the good of the community.
